Dressing Up India's Biggest Fashion App, One Bug at a Time.
Every sale season, millions of Indians open Myntra hoping to snag their favourite outfit before it sells out. During the last End of Reason Sale, the app saw traffic numbers that would make most servers sweat. Add to that the daily load of India's largest fashion e-commerce platform and you've got a testing challenge that doesn't sleep.
What does this tell us on the surface?
India shops fashion online. A lot. And Myntra is where they go to do it.
What does this show us if we look closely?
A platform this large doesn't just need to work. It needs to work flawlessly across Android, iOS, mobile web, desktop web, and its Progressive Web App simultaneously. Every checkout flow, every filter, every wishlist tap, every payment gateway handshake needs to be rock-solid.
Now imagine thousands of test cases running manually every single day. Backlogs piling up. New features waiting in a queue because the team is stuck clearing regression debt. Multi-browser, multi-resolution, multi-OS coverage slipping through the cracks. That's not a testing problem. That's a business problem.
Moolyans don't just find bugs. They hunt them before they're born.
Myntra's in-house team was capable no question. But the sheer scale of their platform meant backlogs were choking the pipeline. New features were getting delayed because the team couldn't get past the mountain of existing test scripts that needed automation. They needed a partner who could clear the runway fast and keep it clear.
How did we do it?
We didn't walk in with a generic automation playbook. We embedded ourselves into Myntra's engineering rhythm sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospectives the works. Our team tackled the full spectrum: exploratory testing to catch what scripts miss, E2E testing across all platforms, component-level testing for surgical precision, and UI automation covering Android, iOS, Web, and PWA. On the automation side, we built out GRPC automation, API automation, and developed custom automation frameworks from scratch. We integrated impression tracking and event automation to make sure analytics weren't lying. We wrote performance scripts for load testing and ran client-side performance tests to make sure the app didn't turn your phone into a hot plate.
We plugged into CI/CD pipelines, handled bundle pushes, beta releases, regression, and sanity cycles. Bug reporting, crash monitoring, tech-on-call issues, production deployments, app releases all covered. And we coached new joiners so Myntra's own team kept levelling up.
The tool stack? Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Postman, Charles Proxy, Espresso, Xcuitest, Puppeteer, NewRelic, Appsflyer, Firebase, Bugsnag, and more. We didn't just pick tools, we picked the right tools for Myntra's ecosystem.
The result: Myntra's backlog automation scripts were cleared. Their team was free to focus on what mattered building new features. Test automation made releases faster. We implemented AppAchhi to run multiple scripts in parallel across all platforms. CI became real. Cloud testing across devices became standard.
